Companies participating in the PBH replaced HCFC-141b with substances that do not harm the ozone layer and have a low global warming potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">A Bit of Context<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Montreal Protocol, established in 1987, regulates substances that deplete the ozone layer. These substances are listed in the following annexes of the Protocol:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A: Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and Halons<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>B: Other CFCs, Carbon Tetrachloride, and Methyl Chloroform<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>C: Hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) and Bromochloromethane<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>E: Methyl Bromide<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Decision XIX\/6 (Annex II), adopted at the 19th Meeting of the Parties to the Montreal Protocol in September 2007, all countries committed to a new HCFC phase-out schedule. For countries under Article 5(2) of the Montreal Protocol, including Brazil, the phase-out deadlines for HCFCs are as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"435\" height=\"197\" src=\"https:\/\/www.amino.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/image-18.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-9633\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.amino.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/image-18.png 435w, https:\/\/www.amino.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/image-18-300x136.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 435px) 100vw, 435px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">What is the Brazilian HCFC Phase-Out Program (PBH)?<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Brazilian HCFC Phase-Out Program (PBH) aims to implement actions to eliminate the consumption of HCFCs (Group I substances, Annex C, of the Montreal Protocol) in accordance with the guidelines of Decision XIX\/6.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This decision calls for an accelerated phase-out of HCFC production and consumption, starting with a freeze in 2013 at the average consumption levels of 2009-2010, a 10% reduction by 2015, and further reductions until total elimination by 2040.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So far, with UNDP support, the Federal Government has facilitated the industrial conversion of 353 companies in the sector. Together, these companies have eliminated the consumption of 2,160 tons of HCFC-141b, helping Brazil meet the targets set by the Montreal Protocol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Sustainable Polyurethane Solutions<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Social Responsibility and Sustainability are core values for Amino.
